Standard Strip Widths

AEM Cores produces a wide range of Toroidal cores in both Grain Oriented Silicon Steel (GOSS) and Mumetal. Toroids are made to order with no limitation on quantity. Lead times vary from between 3-7 working days subject to steel availability and quantity.

GOSS Stock Strip Widths

AEM Cores has a slitting line and carries slit strip from 15mm wide in increments of 5mm to 110mm depending on availability. We also stack 120mm, 152.4mm and 210mm as standard, 210mm being the maximum single strip.

The maximum single strip width for a Toroidal core is 105mm, anything greater than this can be manufactured using multiple strip widths and stacked together. This would then be annealed, tested and packed as 1 core. For example a required strip width of 140mm would be manufactured form 2 x 70mm strip widths.

Mumetal Stock Strip Widths

AEM Cores has a slitting line and carries slit strip from 15mm wide in increments of 5mm to 60mm depending on availability. Special orders requiring a set up and slit run can be accommodated as production volumes dictate. Our maximum strip width is 60mm. We can use multiple strip widths to build up a stack for larger sizes if required.

Slitting Mumetal is an involved process, we cannot simply set up to slit one strip width off the parent coil. All slit operations must take into account other strip requirements and slit disc combinations. For this reason the strip you request may not be instantly available, yet may be programmed into the next slit run for Mumetal. We will always offer our best alternative in the event the strip is not available.
