Material Specification - Grain Oriented Silicon Steel

Our standard supply is JFE with a specification of 27JGH100.

We do sometimes use steel supplied from a number of quality steel suppliers including but not limited to Nipon, ThyssenKrupp and Posco.

Testing and Data Capture

After annealing each core is inspected and degaussed to above 1.8T before undergoing a multi-point testing process through a range of flux densities. The total magnetising current is compared against published data before being de-magnetised. Each core is assigned a unique test number and table of results, against which all material, this appears on a sticker on each core. Test data and dimensional information is stored as a PDF File for future reference. This exclusive number can be quoted in any correspondence concerning the history of the core manufacturing process.
